The Higher Diploma in 3d Animation & Visual Effects equips students with practical knowledge and skill, avails students to cutting-edge computer systems and software to realize their creative ideas for the production of digital entertainment products. The game and animation stream is designed with modules to develop the competency of graduates in applying graphics programming techniques in developing interactive game and training simulation applications.

Students are expected to learn multiple programming languages in order to write code for the creation of original computer games. The skills acquired will enable the students to develop their own digital video games. This course gives budding artists the chance to express themselves artistically through the medium of animation, both classical (hand-drawn) and computer generated.

This dynamic course provides the skills to take individual and group projects from conception to completion. The course aims to enable the student to develop a comprehensive understanding of the principles and techniques employed by the professional animator and to acquire the requisite skills for entry level positions in Feature, TV or Computer Game animation.

Normal Entry

For normal entry into the Higher Diploma in Film and Television Production programme applicants should have at least 5 O-Level subjects including English Language. Any other additional qualification is an added advantage.

 

 Special Entry

Candidates who have successfully completed a certificate in any creative arts sector or have obtained equivalent qualifications may apply for entry into Higher Diploma in Film and Television Production programme subject to availability of places.

 Mature Entry

Ordinary level holders who have worked for more than three years without certification in the particular creative arts sector. 

Block Release School

The aim of the Block Release school programme is to provide academic support to those creative arts practitioners who are already in the field who need to upgrade their skills and knowledge in the form of certification but do the training at a pace they can manage. These individuals hold qualifications lower than the Higher Diploma level
